Abstract:
Carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) is the key to support the power industry to continue using fossil fuels for power generation in the early stage of decarbonization. Focusing on CO
2 efficient and low consumption emission reduction, this paper summarizes the current carbon emission trend and main capture technologies of coal-fired flue gas in the power industry, and predicts the development direction of carbon capture technology in the thermal power industry in the next stage, providing a useful reference for the green transformation and high-quality development of China's power industry under the "double carbon" background. It is suggested that the future deployment of CCUS should start with the elimination and transformation of “old, broken and small” equipment, and focus on the development of efficient and low-energy carbon capture technology while improving policy incentives and supervision, so as to reduce the operation cost of the overall technology.
