Abstract: From the perspective of public service participation and satisfaction, the influence mechanism between government function transformation and government trust was examined. A total of 1,944 pieces of valid data were collected from 40 villages in three provinces through questionnaire. The results show that: government function transformation has a significant positive effect on government trust, and public service satisfaction plays a partial mediating role between government function transformation and government trust; public service participation has a significant positive moderating effect on the relationship between government function transformation and public service satisfaction, and high level of public service participation can significantly enhance the mediating effect of public service satisfaction. To continuously promote the transformation of government functions, we should focus on strengthening the government’s public service function, attach great importance to and give full play to the role of public service participation, and adhere to audience orientation of public service, thus improving public service satisfaction effectively, enhancing the credibility of the government, and increasing the level of government trust.
