Abstract:
Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), General Secretary Xi Jinping has made a series of important expositions on how to promote the reform and development of education in the new era in the strategic overall situation of the governance of China, deepening our understanding of the laws of the reform and development of education in the new era. These important expositions on the reform and development of education can be summed up in the nine aspects of “insistences” he put forward at the National Education Conference. These nine “insistences” have profound implications, play different roles and complement each other. They not only clarify what kind of banner we should uphold, what kind of people we should cultivate and what kind of path we should stay on, but also indicate the foothold, immutable goal and starting point to develop education that meets the people’s expectations. They also answer what mission we should undertake and what foundation we should lay to develop education that meets the people’s expectations. All these together make Xi Jinping’s series of important expositions on the reform and development of education a systematic and abundant scientific theoretical system, and the fundamental guideline to develop education that meets the people’s expectations in the new era and new journey.
