Abstract: The present paper expounds the directive significance of President Jiang Zemin's points of “Three Representations”. It is believed that the implementation of the guiding points requires the embodiment both of being workable in overall situation in the leading goernmental policies and programs and of being solid in the overall requirements and objects set up by each unit at the lower levels. Some points for the implementation of the “Three Representations”are put forward in the paper as follows: 1)sticking to the guiding policies of running universities; 2)making sure which is the proper way to the reform and development, and what are the orientation and targets for the overall development in the future; 3)making great efforts to reach the settled target and standard of a first-rate university. Here are the principles we are to follow:sharpening our sense of innovation;seizing the chance; bring into play our play our own advantages in managing universities; and quickening our steps in constructing a worldwide noted university.
