Abstract: The presidents of universities is the key in univers it y's administration, the higher education's thoughts of the Famous Univer sity's Presidents in recent China are compared and analyzed in this paper, so th e true essence of university, such as education independence, democratic admini stration, academic freedom, great teachers running an university, are opened. T hen the author, linked by home and abroad, demonstrated that university couldn't develop unless according to the true essence, and brought out some suggestions in accordance with the universities' status of our country.
