Abstract: The paper argues that the legend that frequently reading Fa Hua Jing(a Buddhist classics) makes the dead' s tongue unrotten like lotus is a incorrect paraphrase of the two tales in Mahaprajn a by the Buddhist followers in China.Later the distorted legend was borrowed by the readers of Emituo Jing(a Buddhistclassics) and even was generalized into a supernatural miracle for description of worshiped monks with great virtue.
