Abstract: This paper explores the significance of applying translation exercises in English teaching by analyzing the relationship between language and translation and by presenting students' learning barriers. It points out that the proper translation exercises may enhance students' awareness of the differences between English and Chinese so as to improve students' bilingual capability. It also discusses the various emphases and activities in translation.
