Abstract: legal value is a heated argued question in the research of jurisprudence. But the current research about the problem is full of defect. For example, denying the objective being of legal value, researching legal value from viewpoint of object, confusing the concept of legal value and legal effect. Basing itself upon point of view of philosophy of value, exerting the method of axiology, the article thinks: the being of legal value is premise and foundation of research of legal value; subjective approach is the main method of research of legal value; legal value is different from legal effect, realization of legal value is the process of subjectivization of law
