On the Preservation and Utilization of Japanese Cultural Heritage from a Legal Regulation Perspective——The Establishment of Cultural Property Protection System in Japan before WWII

摘要: 通过简要回顾日本文化遗产保护的历史、相关法令的修改过程,从日本文化财保护制度的发展历程出发,对文化财保护法律的产生背景、主要特征、内容和意义进行初步探讨。阐述了当时文化财保护制度对日本文化遗产保护与利用的积极作用。

Abstract: Today the legal regulation on cultural heritage protection in Japan is founded on the establishment of cultural property protection system before WWII. This paper reviews the history of cultural heritage protection and its legal regulation revisions in Japan, and discusses the background, features, contents and significance of the cultural property protection regulation in Japan from the perspective of the development of cultural property protection system, affirming the positive effects produced by this system in the preservation and utilization of cultural heritage in Japan.
