Abstract: This paper discusses the relationship between tuition fees in higher education and family financial affordability incontemporary China. Based on the criteria for tuition fees and family income data in recent years, the paper proposes that the level oftuition fees in higher education contradicts family financial affordability in China and suggests measures to correct the imbalance.
