A View of American Policy of Appeasement towards Japan in "The Panay Incident"

摘要: “帕内号(Panay)事件”是“珍珠港事件”发生前美日在华的一次最大冲突，这是美国对日本长期实行绥靖政策的必然结果。美国对日本的退让妥协，决定了它在以后的美日交涉中处处被动，最终损害了美国自身利益与世界和平。

Abstract: "The Panay Incident" was the largest conflict which occurred in China between the United States and Japan before "Pearl Harbor Incident". It was the inevitable result of United States爷policy of appeasement to Japan. The United States was in a passive situation because of its compromise to Japan which finally damaged the interests of the United States itself and the peace of the world.
