Abstract: It is very common for college students to read and write academic papers during their life-long pursuit of learning and research. Based on this obvious fact, it is necessary for linguists and language educators to notice the real problem that how we can enhance the learners' written communication, especially that for those special community. From the perspective of textual patterns in text organization, it is argued that textual patterns and their relevant lexical signals indicate the textual features of text organization and are an important way for text organization. By means of familiarity with some textual patterns, learners may achieve their success in developing their writing abilities.
