Abstract:
To work out a curriculum that orients to foster well-rounded students with practical working ability, the paper elaborates the problems in curriculum design, the types and the numbers of the courses in the current curriculum for the foreign language majors in the universities and suggests principles to be followed in curriculum reform. Answering to the employment need of the students, the paper proposes a "5 plus 4 and 3" design as an attempt to offer an ideal curriculum model for independent college.
