Abstract: The horse image in Su Shi's works not only absorbs the ideas, emotions and artistic nutrition of ancestors'literary creations, but also possesses new thoughts and transcendences. He struggled in a dilemma between proud of patriotism and shame of obstacles and distresses, so he has a deep feeling about the cruel brutality of ancient society's autocracy; he has rather in-depth contemplations on scholar-bureaucrat's petty and low character in face of imperial power; besides, he also has nasty confusions in front of the limitations of society and time. Therefore, his representative works relating to horses demonstrate rich connotations and unique art style. Key words: horse
