Abstract:
The FDI in our country's western areas increases quickly in recent years, but the differences of spatial distributions is still big. This paper uses the statistics from every province and city in 1983-2005 to investigate the difference of quantity, quality and contribution between the three main areas. It concludes that, although western areas'investment course has gradually transferred
from scalar type to molar type and they possess big potential to develop foreign investments, our country's foreign investment structure can be appropriately directed to the western areas; meantime, the western areas should also frame basic strategies, centering around FDI utilization.
