Abstract:
On the famous Jewish American writer Isaac Bashevis Singer's works, critics have explored the characteristics, religious ideas, theme patterns, emphasizing his return to Jewish tradition, but this paper is intended to reveal and analyze the paradoxcomplex in Singer's works. Employing poetics of culture, the present paper puts the texts into Jewish historical, religious, philosophical and cultural contexts and tends to reveal the intertextuality between literature and culture and the reasons for his paradox-complex.
