Abstract:
There are a great deal of "horse"metaphors in both English and Chinese. The coincidence of the"horse"metaphors in the two languages manifests the superposition of Chinese and Western cultures; while the mismatching of the "horse"metaphors reflects the differences between the two cultures, mainly in the fields of geographic cultures, the values and the folk customs. And more importantly, the syncretism trend of English and Chinese "horse"冶metaphors has showed us a resplendent prospect of blending and exchange for Chinese and Western cultures.
