Abstract: "Xi Ming"is Zhang Zai's short essay of hundreds of words to express the ideals and values of his life, containing the essence of Zhang's philosophy, which describes the status of man between heaven and earth as well as his relationship with them, specifies "man"to "individuals"and finally introduces his responsibilities and obligations between the heaven and earth. This paper proposes to analyze this essay from the perspectives such as "the harmony between man and nature"etc., to understand and grasp the theme of "Xi Ming", and puts forward that it is of high spiritual values for the establishment of world outlooks and life values for people of contemporary society.
