Abstract:
In EFL classroom, teachers’ questions have a direct impact on learner output, thus the question pattern plays an important role in students’ language development. Through in-class observation and after-class questionnaires, the article analyzes some features of present teachers’questioning pattern in terms of questioning types and ways, waiting time after questioning and feedback through the observations in four classrooms of English majors in Nanguo Business College, and finally makes several relevant proposals according to the results of the observations in terms of balancing different question types. Besides, the article involves some discussion of echoic questions which may serve as a supplement to the present EFL research.
