Abstract: As the biggest developing country in the world and a space-faring nation， Chinese government persists that outer space should be used peacefully and opposes the militarization of outer space. In order to ensure the peaceful use of space， China has made active efforts in different international forums， aiming at concluding an international agreement on the prevention of the placement of weapons in outer space， the prohibition of threat or use of force against space object. Though China develops military capacities， the objective is the protection of its national interests， the nature of which is defensive. It is also a measure which can have positive influences for the conclusion of the international agreement on the prevention of the militarization of outer space in the framework of the Conference on Disarmament.
