Abstract: Irony is an important rhetorical method and literary criticism， which includes verbal irony， situational irony， and structural irony etc. in different forms. Zhao Shu-li’s fictions have the characteristics of irony not only on linguistic level， but also on the situational and structural levels，. The present paper mainly takes Zhao Shu-li’s representative fictions as the example to analyze the art of irony in his fictions， thus to open another window of artistic charm into Zhao Shu-li’s fictions.
