Abstract: The development and tendency of domestic flat glass are introduced briefly， and the present situation of our glass market which is strongly affected by international financial storm caused by subprime crisis is discussed in detail. According to the opportunities and challenges in glass industry resulted from the economic crisis， in view of the current situation and the development of domestic and international environment in glass industry development and strategic orientation， some proposals and effective suggestions for domestic glass industry to cope with the changes of economic environment are recommended in the paper， such as technology innovation， structure adjustment， industrial integration and utilization of resources etc.
