Abstract:
Objectives: by comparing the different definitions and self-report measurements of mindfulness,this study attempts to explore the proper means to promote the understanding of mindfulness. Methods:the different definitions proposed by researchers were reviewed; the constructions of the different self-report questionnaires were compared and analyzed. Results: there are still many differences about the definition and operation of mindfulness,which in some degree reflects the differences in researchers understanding of mindfulness,their meditation experience,their research background and academic interests. Conclusions: to promote the knowledge about mindfulness,researchers should devote more to the qualitative research and investigating the outcomes produced by mindfulness practice.
