Abstract:
Though overshadowed under the system of “inheritability attribute”, communication is still the essential and universal inherent nature of folk arts. The expressions of folk arts usually appear to be symbolic, referring to both concrete folk art forms(the signifier)from exterior and abstract folk culture(the signified)from interior. Therefore, the process of folk art communication is, in essence, the circulation and communion of symbolic meanings among communicators and accepters. The communicative activities of folk arts are mainly realized through ways of oral tradition, demonstration and real object inheritance, corresponding to orally inherited arts, performing arts and formative arts respectively.
