Abstract:
This paper investigated into the history of science and technology communication and analyzed the needs of contemporary economic society for this communication. Based on this, the stratification of the task of contemporary science and technology communication is discussed, arguing that it covers vast and widespread fields today, which encompasses multiple and stratified objectives. Its tasks include the dissemination of scientific and technological knowledge, the enhancement of public understanding of science, the promotion of public involvement in science and the services for scientific and technological innovations. These four tasks evince stratified characteristics.
