Abstract:
As an important scribe Eastern Han Dynasty, Cai Yong had close associations with the disciples of the teachings of Zhou Yi at that time and made significant contributions to its dissemination. He used many allusions of Zhou Yi in the inscription on a tablet, and made different choices according to the identities of the owners of the tombstones. These allusions not only inherited the awareness of adversity and the concept of flexibility of Zhou Yi, but also reflected the respects and esteems held for teachers and education in the context of the flourishing studies of scriptures. Feishiyi, as used by Cai Yong in his tablet, accorded with the development trend of Zhou Yi in that period.
